Hendricks Valentines Day Bar Crawl

Valentine's Day doesn't immediately feel like a holiday that aligns with gin culture. But Hendricks Gin - with its playful irreverence and cucumber-forward personality - understands something important: romance doesn't have to be serious to be genuine. Hendricks organised a Valentine's Day bar crawl across multiple venues in the Netherlands, and I documented the event as it unfolded across the night.

What struck me most wasn't the Valentine's theming - it was how Hendricks understood their own brand well enough to make the pairing feel natural rather than forced. A gin brand that doesn't take itself too seriously, celebrating a holiday that people secretly want to approach with lightness. The botanical complexity of Hendricks gave bartenders plenty to work with, and each venue interpreted the brief differently - creating cocktails that were technically solid and genuinely fun at the same time.

What I captured photographically was the progression of a well-executed bar crawl: the polite exploration of the first venue giving way to genuine conversation and energy by the middle stops, and real celebration by the end. People who started the night as strangers ended it planning their next visit. That's not accidental - it's the result of smart brand alignment, skilled bartenders, and the particular magic that happens when hospitality and craft come together.
